Shift + command + four is a diaristic zine documenting snippets of my life in 2024 so far.  As I love a good layout, I wanted this project to call upon the format of a zine yet one that lives in a digital space. This toggling between the physical vs digital I found a really compelling relationship that I leaned into throughout constructing the zine. I really explored the idea of how technology has really influenced storytelling and communication. I mean just think, because of the invention of the camera we now use the phrase “snapshot of ___.”

In Shift + command + four I wanted to bring the digital to the forefront, really having it interact with and even manipulate my real lived experiences. Particularly, from the standpoint of a designer; how could I encapsulate the chaotic jumble of thoughts, feelings, and experience into a visual output? I approached this zine as a manifestation of my brain if it were realized in a digital landscape, that also happens to occur within the bounds of a zine.
